It operates in the confines of Mayors’ Offices, Justice Halls or any available space in the area without sacrificing the standards of sterility, safety, and quality of surgery. A record number of cases performed with excellent results in every mission is the hallmark of the Maharlika Charity Foundation, Inc., Surgical Outreach Missions.

Maharlika’s Outreach Missions go to places where angels fear and fail to tread. Maharlika corps of volunteers and its Mobile Operating Theater Van has provided free medical and surgical services to 19 areas in Mindanao some in the heart of the Muslim provinces and other difficult to reach places. The most recent were Balingo-an, Valencia, Dumingag, Zamboanga Sur and the Islamic City of Marawi, Lanao Sur.

The manner of delivery of the Maharlika Mission is not only cost effective and if replicated, can substantially reduce the overcrowding of health facilities in the Cities thereby reserving the resources of Hospitals for the cases that needs tertiary care. The need for more of Maharlika Missions can be gleaned from the testimonial records of the Mayors, Governors, Community Leaders and Civic Clubs in the different mission sites, citing the utmost satisfaction of the beneficiaries. The mission has multiplier effect which in the words of City Mayor Rodolfo H. Carreon Jr of Dapitan City “has spread from the patient to their loved ones, friends & neighbors”, with their health restored and their infirmities mended, they have turned into productive members of society. Since the resources of the Foundation can only sustain four major Outreach Mission per year there is a waiting-list for missions to other provinces in Mindanao up to year 2006.
